Roxana Pope is a British Iranian director, writer and musician based in Edinburgh. She studied ﬁlm at Edinburgh Skillset Screen & Media Academy, Edinburgh College of Art, graduating with an MFA in ﬁlm directing in 2008. Currently Artist in Residence with Edinburgh Mela she is creating a series of films, the first of which is called ASHURA.

Nominated for a Royal Television Award and won best documentary at the NextFrame Film Festival, USA.
Tehran Backyard premiered at the London Documentary FIlm festival in 2008, and was shown in ﬁlm festivals around the world. It was sold to BBC TV in 2009.
